Local cricket fans were treated to a one-off game played by some famous faces from sport and screen at a celebrity cricket match supported by Squire Furneaux Saab. The event, which took place at the Old Albanians Sports Club, was attended by over 500 guests and spectators who saw stars including Chris Tarrant, David Seaman and Mike Gatting put their bowling and batting skills to the test, raising in excess of £30,000 for charity in the process. All the money raised will be donated to the Willow Foundation - a charity founded by England goalkeeping legend Bob Wilson to organise ‘special days' for young adults facing life-threatening conditions; and The Lord's Taverners - one of the UK's leading youth sports and disability charities and the official charity for recreational cricket. Ian Wooding-Jones, Dealer Principal of Squire Furneaux Saab, said: "We were so proud to be involved with this fantastic event, there was a really exciting atmosphere on the day and we were delighted that such a staggering amount of money was raised for these two deserving charities."
